Our data demonstrate that nuclear p16 expression is absent in normal gallbladder epithelium and is a frequent event in high-grade dysplasia of the gallbladder and gallbladder adenocarcinoma.
Simultaneous deregulation of p16 and cyclin D1 genes in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma: a combined immunohistochemistry and image analysis study based on tissue microarrays.
We identified thirteen loci showing significant differential DNA methylation levels between tumor and non-tumor lung; eight of these show highly significant hypermethylation in adenocarcinoma: CDH13, CDKN2A EX2, CDX2, HOXA1, OPCML, RASSF1, SFPR1, and TWIST1 (p-value < 0.0001).
In comparison with adenocarcinomas of the stomach, SB-AC revealed a significantly higher rate of hypermethylation of HPP1 (86% versus 54%, p = 0.0003), p16(INK4A) (32% versus 10%, p = 0.0006), and a significantly lower rate of hypermethylation of APC (48% versus 84%, p = 0.0001).
