Stratified analyses indicated that rs6983267 significantly increased the risk of colorectal cancer in Caucasians, prostate cancer in Caucasians and Asians, thyroid cancer in Caucasians and lung cancer in Asians.
CCAT2 rs6983267 (P = 0.02, adenocarcinoma) and H19 rs2107425 (P = 0.02, age under 50 years) showed strong relationship with lung cancer susceptibility.
When we stratified our analysis by smoking status, rs6983267 was positively associated with lung cancer among ever-smokers (ORadj, 1.45; 95% CI, 1.05-2.00) and inversely associated with bladder cancer among ever-smokers (ORadj, 0.35; 95% CI, 0.14-0.83).
