Early CVVH appeared to be effective in the treatment of ACS in patients with SAP through the removal of causative cytokines such as IL-8, and it thereby decreased interstitial edema to lower IAP and should be applied in the early stage of ACS.
Cerebrospinal fluid levels of granzyme A were significantly higher, and those of TNF-α and IL-1RA were significantly lower in the AE group than in the cFS group; however, no significant differences in the levels of granzyme B, IFN-γ, IL-1β, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, and IL-10 were observed between the 2 groups.
RESULTS IL-4 and IL-8 levels showed statistically significant differences among the 3 groups of patients (both P<0.001); IL-4 level was significantly lower, while IL-8 level was significantly higher in the AECOPD group and ACOS group than those in the asthma group (all P<0.05).
Statistical analysis revealed that only IL-8 (rs4073, -251A>T) showed significant differences in genotype and allele frequency between the control and APN or ALN cases.
Acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is a primary T-cell-mediated complication of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), occurring when donor-derived T cells are stimulated by host antigen-presenting cells (APCs), enhanced by proinflammatory cytokines such as interleukin (IL)-1, IL-6, IL-8, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha.
Therefore, we evaluated the role of the biomarkers IL-8 and GDF-15 in predicting 28-day mortality in patients with AHRF who receive treatment with NPPV.
Children who developed B-cell precursor ALL had significantly lower neonatal concentrations of IL8, soluble IL6 receptor (sIL6R) α, TGFβ1, monocyte chemotactic protein (MCP)-1, and C-reactive protein (CRP) and higher concentrations of IL6, IL17, and IL18 compared with matched controls.
Capsaicin attenuates palmitate-induced expression of macrophage inflammatory protein 1 and interleukin 8 by increasing palmitate oxidation and reducing c-Jun activation in THP-1 (human acute monocytic leukemia cell) cells.
High CXCR2 expression was also an adverse prognostic factor in The Cancer Genome Atlas AML cohort, further pointing to the critical role of the IL8-CXCR2 axis in AML/MDS.
Cells processed according to the REPAIR-AMI protocol secrete significantly higher amounts of IL-8 (487.3 ± 1231.1 vs 9.1 ± 8.2 pg mL-1 ; p < 0.05).
The aim of the present study was (i) to examine serum levels of proinflammatory markers in VF survivors and (ii) to evaluate basal and lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated interleukin-8-mRNA (IL-8-mRNA) levels in patients with and without VF complicating AMI.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of early continuous veno-venous hemofiltration (CVVH) in decreasing the intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) and serum interleukin-8 (IL-8) level in severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) patients with abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS).
A binomial logistic regression was performed to evaluate Ranson's criteria and IL6, IL8, and IL10 (at admission and after 48 hours) in the course of AP.
Determination of the frequency of IL-8 polymorphism in acute pancreatitis may be informative and may provide further evidence concerning the role of IL-8 in the severe form of this disease.
