The aim of the present study was to evaluate whether expression of resistance genes (MDR1, MRP3 and LRP) can predict clinical outcome in NSCLC patients treated with paclitaxel and carboplatin.
We found that HNE up-regulated MRP3 mRNA and protein levels in cell lines with wild-type Keap1 (the human bronchial epithelial cell line HBE1 and the NSCLC cell line H358), but not in the Keap1-mutant NSCLC cell lines (A549 and H460).
In this study we investigated whether Tc-99m hexakis 2-methoxy isobutyl isonitnile (Tc-99m MIBI) single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) has a correlation with the multidrug resistance (MDRI) and multidrug resistance-associated protein (MRP1) gene expression levels in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
We determined the expression of a newly recognised drug resistance gene, the Multidrug Resistance-associated Protein (MRP) gene, in normal lung tissue and in tumour biopsies from 35 surgically resected NSCLCs (11 adenocarcinomas, 24 squamous cell carcinomas).
