Collectively, our results support that TROP-2 exhibits tumor suppressor functions in cervical cancer through inhibiting the activity of IGF-1R and ALK.
To prospectively assess whether circulating IGF-I levels influence the natural history of oncogenic human papillomavirus (HPV), the viral cause of cervical cancer, we conducted a pilot investigation of 137 women who underwent semiannual type-specific HPV DNA PCR testing and cervical cytology.
IGF-1 and KCC colocalize in the surgical specimens of cervical cancer (n = 28) and ovarian cancer (n = 35), suggesting autocrine or paracrine IGF-1 stimulation of KCC production.
