The -374T/ARAGE promotor single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) was negatively associated with CD (odds ratio = 0.708, 95% confidence interval = 0.535-0.938, P = 0.016) and with stenosis (OR = 0.627, P = 0.04) in the German sample.
This study investigated expression of the RAGE variants endogenous secretory RAGE (esRAGE), N-truncated RAGE (NtRAGE) and complete RAGE (cRAGE: encoding full-length RAGE, esRAGE and NtRAGE) in PBMCs of patients with RA in comparison to healthy control subjects (controls) and to patients with Crohn's disease (CD) as another chronic inflammatory disease.
