Phyllodes tumors (PTs) represent uncommon fibroepithelial lesions of the breast that express c-Kit and platelet-derived growth factor receptor-alpha, similar to gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs).
The PDGFRA does not seem to be an alternative pathway to tumour development in phyllodes tumours because neither expression nor activating mutations were noteworthy.
