Our results also expanded the morphological spectrum of GNA-mutated hemangiomas to include tumors composed of cavernous-like vessels and indicated GNA14 was the most commonly mutated gene in vascular tumors.
Our findings identify GNA14 mutations as a cause of childhood vascular tumors, offer insight into mechanisms of oncogenic transformation by mutations affecting Gaq family members, and identify potential targets for therapeutic intervention.
