Benzodiazepines and proton-pump inhibitors were the drugs most frequently involved with PIM, whereas PPO were often related to 5-alpha reductase inhibitors, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, statins and drugs for osteoporosis.
These include drugs used to treat lipid disorders (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors), hypertension (ACE inhibitors), osteoporosis (bisphosphonates), cancer (proteasome inhibitors) and others.
These results demonstrated that bioactive whey-derived AO and ACE inhibitory peptides can play a potential therapeutic role in osteoporosis by activating osteoblasts anabolically.
