Our previous studies determined that myelin basic protein (MBP) was capable of inhibiting fibril formation of a highly fibrillogenic Abeta peptide containing both E22Q (Dutch) and D23N (Iowa) mutations associated with familial forms of cerebral amyloid angiopathy [Hoos, M.
