In women with Malaria+CHB, correlation analysis showed significant negative association of the pro-inflammatory cytokines responses with malaria parasitemia [IL-1β (P<0.001; r = -0.645), IL-6 (P = 0.046; r = -0.394) and IL-12 (P = 0.011; r = -0.49)].
Finally, mRNA levels of IL1B in CHB patients significantly correlate with the degree of inflammation (p = 0.016) but not the stage of fibrosis (p = 0.362).
The inhibitory effect of HBeAg was confirmed in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and hepatocellular carcinoma by comparing the levels of IL-1β and NLRP3-related proteins in para-carcinoma tissues from HBeAg-positive or negative patients.
