A high frequency of c1c1 genotypes of CYP2E1 was commonly encountered, and the difference between DIH and non-DIH patients was not significant (75.14% vs. 77.14%).
The purpose of this study was to assess the association of N-acetyltransferase 2 (NAT2) and cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1) gene polymorphism with anti-TB DIH in Western Indian population.
Slow-acetylator status and the CYP2E1 C/D or C/C genotype together showed a higher frequency in DIH (65.85%) compared to non-DIH (28.81%) (P < 0.0001).
