Accumulating evidence suggests that microRNAs (miRNAs) has been proven to be a critical regulator in the tumor progression, of which miR-195-5p was reported to function as tumor suppressor in prostate cancer and oral squamous cell carcinoma.
Further in-depth mechanistic studies showed that SNHG12 might serve as a competing endogenous RNA for miR-195 in PCa cells, and miR-195 expression level was negatively associated with the expression of SNHG12 in PCa tissues.
It has been validated that abnormal miR-195 expression was related with poor survival of prostate cancer (PC); however, its role in the resistance to chemotherapeutic drugs docetaxel (DOC) in PC is still acquainted scarcely.
High levels of miR-195 and miR-16 were positively correlated with the biochemical recurrence-free survival of prostate cancer patients. miR-195 and miR-16 were inversely correlated with PD-L1, PD-1, CD80 and CTLA-4 expression.

In MSKCC data re-analyses, miR-195 was poorly expressed in metastatic PCa; miR-195 could be used to diagnose metastatic PCa by measuring the corresponding expression.
