VA increased the concentration of CEPCs and VEGF in serum, CD133 content and microvessel density (MVD), and protected the morphology of microvascular endothelial cells in the marginal area of MI at 7 days post-MI surgery.
These behaviors were associated with an increase 5-HT and DA neurotransmitter content, as well as an increase of VEGF levels in the hippocampus of the post-MI depression rats.
Treatment with IMD1‑53 also significantly increased the expression levels of phosphorylated‑AMP‑activated protein kinase (AMPK) and the subsequent activation of endothelial nitric oxide synthase in MMVECs and post‑MI rat myocardium, without a significant influence on the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor.
