In repeated biopsy in July 2015 histopathological workup showed a pleomorphic epitheloid tumor with small to medium sized cells expressing vimentin and melan-A while being negative for cytokeratin establishing the diagnosis of PEComa of the liver.
These epithelioid cells were immunohistochemically positive for vimentin, gp100 (detected with monoclonal antibody HMB-45), and TFE3, and the tumor was diagnosed as PEComa.
