In this study we aimed to evaluate the role of technetium-99m pertechnetate whole body scan (<sup>99m</sup>Tc WBS) with single photon emission tomography/computed tomography (SPET/CT) in detecting remnant thyroid tissue, nodal and distant metastases, in differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) patients before radioiodine (<sup>131</sup>I) therapy.
This retrospective survey included 327 patients with DTC who underwent at least one in-hospital WBS with rhTSH between 1999 and 2006.They had also undergone THW for WBS.
