Hematopoietic effects of interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) may be responsible for certain aspects of the pathology seen in bone marrow failure syndromes, including aplastic anemia (AA), paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), and some forms of myelodysplasia (MDS).
