Data from the present study showed significantly increased lnc-Ang362, miR-221, and miR-222 expression in the lung tissues of patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension and in hypoxic human pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cells.
Dysregulated microRNAs (miRNAs, miRs) have been implicated in the progression of PAH. miR-222 has a pro-proliferation effect on VSMCs while it has an anti-proliferation effect on vascular endothelial cells (ECs).
