The SYNTAX II study is a multicenter, all-comers, open-label, single arm study that investigated the impact of a state-of-the-art PCI strategy on clinical outcomes in patients with TVD (454 patients with 1,559 lesions).
Bifurcation treatment in patients with three-vessel disease undergoing state-of-the-art PCI had similar event rate of MACCE but was associated with a trend toward higher incidence of TLF compared with nonbifurcation lesions.
These guidelines recommend PCI as an alternative first-line treatment option in patients with coronary three-vessel disease and left main stenosis having low coronary complexity based on the angiographic SYNTAX score.
