After excluding 2 patients with XLH and PTx, the frequency of abnormal elevation in BTMs was: bone ALP (96%); CTX (72%); PINP (52%); uNTX (48%); Oc (28%).
In contrast, these two parameters were stimulated by the increased medium phosphate concentrations both in normal and XLH osteoblasts, although the regulatory patterns of increased osteocalcin syntheses were different from normal to XLH osteoblasts; 2 and 4 mM of phosphate concentrations at least were necessary for normal and XLH osteoblasts, respectively.
We have measured circulating osteocalcin levels in 10 patients with x-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) and in 6 patients with autosomal recessive vitamin D dependence (ARVDD) who started 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 [1,25-(OH)2D3] therapy.
