Although anti-Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor agents have significantly led to the initial pharmacologic reversal of vision loss in many cases of exudative macular degeneration, there still has been recurrence of choroidal neovascularization, and/or the onset of chorioretinal atrophy with fibrosis.
