In addition, our work also points out the importance of new studies for Lys751Gln association in endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer, where at least some of the covariates responsible for heterogeneity could be controlled, to obtain a more conclusive understanding about the function of the Lys751Gln polymorphism in cancer development.
In this study, we investigated the association of the polymorphisms in the DNA repair genes, XRCC1 Arg399Gln, XRCC3 Thr241Met, XPD Lys751Gln, XPG Asp1104His, APE1 Asp148Glu, and HOGG1 Ser326Cys, with endometrium cancer risk.
The 751 Lys/Gln polymorphism of the ERCC2 gene may be linked with endometrial cancer occurrence and its effect can be potentiated by variants of the XRCC1 gene or first degree relatives positive cancer history.
