The genotypes and allele frequencies of MCP-1 -2518A/G were calculated and analyzed in 101 AP patients including 78 mild AP (MAP) patients and 23 severe AP (SAP) patients, and 120 healthy individuals as control group.
Most notable among these were Reg3b (regenerating islet-derived 3 beta; pancreatitis-associated protein) and Ccl2 (chemokine [C-C motif] ligand 2), which were significantly upregulated in every condition in the rat.
The CCL2-2518 A/G polymorphism probably associates with pancreatitis risk, especially severe acute pancreatitis risk when compared with controls, with the G allele acting as a risk factor.
