After adjustment for hypertension as well as for smoking, the association between aSAH and rs10757278 remained significant with an OR for aSAH of 1.42 (95% CI 1.08 to 1.87; p=0.01) for the uncommon G allele.
Our findings suggest that SNPs rs10757274, rs2383207, rs10757278, and rs1333049, particularly those within the CDKN2B-AS1 gene, and related haplotypes may confer increased susceptibility to HT development.
We tested whether two single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (rs2383207 and rs10757278), previously strongly associated with myocardial infarction, are independently associated with stroke and coronary events in patients with hypertension.
