One of the 4 SNPs, rs2762939, was associated with CAC quantity in both the Genetic Epidemiology Network of Arteriopathy (P=0.007) and Penn Coronary Artery Calcification (P=0.01) studies.
The <i>GG</i> genotype of rs2</span>762939 was significantly associated with the risk ofACS development, but not correlated to the vitamin D level. rs4809960 and rs703842 genetic variations were not associated with ACS nor with 25(OH)D level.
Our results clearly suggest that gender, CYP24A1 rs2762939, and Vitamin D status may play a significant role in disease susceptibility towards EH in Indian population.
