The role of BDNF, NTRK2 gene and their interaction in development of treatment-resistant depression: data from multicenter, prospective, longitudinal clinic practice.
The aim of this study was to examine whether the NTRK2 and BDNF polymorphisms impact brain white matter connections in major depressive disorder and whether they may also have an interactive effect with environmental stress in the form of early life adversity.
We analyzed 62 genotyped variants within the selected genes (BDNF, NTRK2, SLC6A4, TPH2, P2RX7, DAOA, COMT, DISC1, and MAOA) against the presence of mood disorder, and in post-hoc analyses, specifically against bipolar disorder or major depressive disorder.
Sequence variations of ABCB1, SLC6A2, SLC6A3, SLC6A4, CREB1, CRHR1 and NTRK2: association with major depression and antidepressant response in Mexican-Americans.
