PVT1 expression of both colon cancer cell tissue and 60 paired cancer and peri-tumoral tissue samples was detected by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR).
Subgroup analysis showed that the high expression of PVT1 was closely related to the low overall survival rate of patients with clear cell renal cell carcinoma, breast cancer, cervical cancer, colon cancer, epithelial ovarian cancer, gastric cancer, lung cancer, and osteosarcoma.
The expression of SNHG6 and ZFAS1 was more in rectal adenocarcinoma than the colon carcinoma while the PVT1 showed the same expression levels in both tissues.
Moreover, the presence of PVT1 decreased the level of miR-146a whereas increasing the messenger RNA and protein levels of COX2, thus establishing a PVT1/miR-146a/COX2 signaling pathway underlying the pathogenesis of CC.
