In conclusion, the rs2292832 polymorphism was significantly associated with increased breast cancer</span> risk, and the rs895819 polymorphism contributes to the susceptibility of colorectal and breast cancer.
The data showed that the 3746444 GG was associated with increased breast cancer risk (adjusted odds ratio (OR) = 1.71, 95 % confidence interval (CI) = 1.16-2.52) and that rs2292832 CC (adjusted OR = 0.54, 95 % CI = 0.34-0.85) was associated with decreased breast cancer risk.
However, for the miR-146a rs2910164 (G>C), miR-149 rs2292832 (G>T), miR-373 rs12983273 (C>T), and miR-423 rs6505162 (C>A) polymorphisms, we failed to find any significant association with the risk of breast cancer in any genetic model.
To explore the relevance of miRNA polymorphisms and female physiological characteristics to breast cancer risk, SNPs located within hsa-miR-605 (rs2043556), hsa-miR-149 (rs2292832), hsa-miR-27a (rs895819), hsa-miR-196a-2 (rs11614913) and hsa-miR-618 (rs2682818) were selected, and their associations with breast cancer risk were analysed.
