The results revealed a significant association between the AGT gene T174M polymorphism and MI risk (MM vs TT: OR = 2.87, 95%CI = 1.71-4.83; dominant model: OR = 1.57, 95%CI = 1.10-2.25; recessive model: OR = 0.41, 95%CI = 0.25-0.66).
The relative frequencies of the T and M alleles of the T174M and of the M235T gene variation did not significantly differ between patients without or with single-, double- or triple-vessel disease and between subjects without or with myocardial infarction (MI).
