Our results suggested hsa-mir-196a2 rs11614913 C/T is associated with a significantly decreased risk of bladder cancer and hsa-mir-146a rs2910164 GG genotype is associated with clinical stage and metastasis in bladder cancer.
Nevertheless, heterozygous genotype was found to be associated with higher GS, as well as with the presence of distant metastases. rs2910164 was also shown to be associated with cancer aggressiveness (p = 0.0067; ORGC = 2.22, 95 %CI 1.24-3.97; ORCC = 0.47, 95 %CI 0.13-1.68).
