We studied 2HF in small cell (SCLC) and non-small cell (NSCLC) lung cancer cell lines for sensitivity to 2HF antineoplastic activity and to determine the role of the GS-E transporter Rlip (Ral-interacting protein; RLIP76; RALBP1) in the mechanism of action of 2HF.
MAPK p38 and JNK have opposing activities on TRAIL-induced apoptosis activation in NSCLC H460 cells that involves RIP1 and caspase-8 and is mediated by Mcl-1.
Partial inhibition of RLIP76 using antibodies in the absence of chemotherapy drug causes apoptosis in multiple small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell lines and in the presence of doxorubicin (DOX), marked synergy is observed.
