In this study, we found that the mRNA and protein expression levels of MCT-1 were visibly decreased after knocking down PKC by siRNA in SUDHL-4 and OCI-LY8 DLBCL cell lines.
Our findings suggest that disruption of neoplastic-stromal cell metabolic heterogeneity including MCT1 and MCT4 blockade should be studied to determine if it could represent a novel treatment target in DLBCL.
Herein we establish that MCT-1 is highly expressed in 85% of human diffuse large B-cell lymphomas (DLBCL) and that knocking down MCT-1 by a specific short hairpin RNA in DLBCL cells induces apoptosis, supporting a critical role for MCT-1 in DLBCL cell survival.
