We found that the expression of fibrotic proteins, including alpha-smooth muscle actin (<i>α</i>-SMA), type I collagen (collagen I), connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), and fibronectin, and the extent of fibrosis extremely enhanced in ectopic endometria compared with eutopic endometria from the same patients with endometriosis and normal endometria from patients without endometriosis.
In vitro effects of small-molecule antagonists of the Tcf/β-catenin complex (PKF 115-584 and CGP049090) on fibrotic markers (alpha smooth muscle actin, type I collagen, connective tissue growth factor, fibronectin) and collagen gel contraction were evaluated in endometrial and endometriotic stromal cells from patients with endometriosis.
This study investigates the use of derivatives of the human antibody F8, specific to the alternatively spliced extra-domain A of fibronectin (Fn), for the imaging and treatment of endometriosis.
