<b>Results:</b> In this study, GBM cells treated with recombinant human HMGB1 (rhHMGB1) underwent spontaneous EMT through GSK-3β/Snail signaling pathway.
Glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β), a positive regulator of NF-κB-mediated survival and chemoresistance of cancer cells, has been identified as a potential therapeutic target in human GBM.
Moreover, glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β), an intact complex of E2F1, were also highly expressed in astrocytomas and linked with astrocytomas progression and poor prognosis of patients with astrocytomas and glioblastoma.
In conclusion, our study demonstrates that miR-101 can reverse TMZ resistance by inhibition of GSK3β in GBM, thus offer a novel and powerful strategy for GBM therapy.
In short, we established a model to demonstrate that GSK3b interacts with and phosphorylates BCL2L12 and might also affect BCL2L12A to modulate the apoptosis signaling pathway in glioblastoma.
