<i>Surveillance:</i> Routine monitoring of: Endocrine function: measurement of serum concentration of PTH, calcium and phosphate, TSH and free T4, and urinary calcium excretion; Growth velocity and growth hormone status (serum IGF1 and/or stimulated growth hormone testing); New and/or enlarging ectopic ossifications; Development of and/or progression of cataracts; and Psychoeducational needs regarding school assistance / educational support and developmental therapies (e.g., physical, occupational, and speech therapy).
We found no significant association between the IGF-1 SNPs and high or extreme myopia (axial length ≥28 mm in both eyes, 837 subjects) in the additive model, even when compared with the cataract and general population controls, with or without adjustments for age and sex.
