In the Cox regression analysis, LOX expression and lymph node metastasis were significant factors correlated with overall survival rate (odds ratio [OR] = 3.92, 95% confidence interval [95% CI]: 1.35-11.37, P = .012; OR = 1.96, 95% CI: 0.93-1.43, P = .024, respectively).
We found that HIF-1α and LOX are highly expressed in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues, and the expression of both proteins is significantly correlated with the tumor grade, tumor diameter and lymph node metastasis.
All except lysyl oxidase L3 were expressed at high levels in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, but only lysyl oxidase L2 was associated with lymph node metastasis (P = .034).
The expression of LOX protein in breast cancer, cancer-adjacent normal breast tissues and benign breast tumor were 48.6% (54/111), 26.1% (29/111), 20.0% (4/20), respectively, associations being noted with clinical stage, lymph node metastasis, tumor size and ER, PR, HER2, but not age.
