MTT assay was used to observe the proliferation of cells at 24, 48 and 72 h. The results of RT-qPCR detection showed that the expression level of miR-181c was significantly lower in neuroblastoma cancer tissues than that in adjacent tissues, with a statistically significant difference (t=18.570, P<0.001).
Based on all these data, we propose that miR-29a-3p, miR-34b-3p, miR-181c-5p and miR-517a-3p are disallowed tumor suppressor genes in neuroblastoma and suggest them as new therapeutic targets in neuroblastoma.
In conclusion, our results demonstrated that miR-181c inhibits NB cell growth and metastasis-related traits through the suppression of Smad7, functioning as a tumor suppressor.
