Higher CSF Ng levels were positively associated with greater Aβ neuritic plaque (Consortium to Establish a Registry for Alzheimer's Disease (CERAD) neuritic plaque score, p = 0.0002) and tau tangle pathology (Braak neurofibrillary tangles staging, p = 0.0007) scores.
A total of 129 patients were included and CSF levels of Aβ42, total tau, tau phosphorylated at threonine 181 (p-tau), neurogranin, VILIP-1, VEGF, FABP3, Aβ40, neurofilament light, MBP, orexin A, BDNF and YKL-40 were measured.
Notably, CSF p-tau, t-tau, and Aβ42 and hippocampal volumes were not significantly associated with delayed recall scores (<i>p</i> > 0.40), and did not interact with neurogranin to predict memory (<i>p</i> > 0.10).
