In this study, we found that the expression of miR-383 was significantly reduced in gastric cancer tissues and correlated with the advanced progression of these cancer patients.
The expression and biological roles of microRNAs (miRNAs/miRs) in tumourigenesis, and their regulatory function in a number of biological processes correlated with cancer have been investigated. miR‑383 has been reported to be deregulated in several human cancer types.
Due to its aberrant expression in some types of human cancer, miR-383 has the value of being investigated in relation to cancer treatment and diagnosis.
Taken together, these findings uncover a novel regulatory mechanism for constitutive IGF1R signaling activation in glioma cancer and may provide miR-383 as a useful diagnostic marker or therapeutic target.
