miR-486 regulated osteosarcoma cell invasion and EMT through targeting to PIM1. miR-486 low expression or PIM1 overexpression predicted poor prognosis of osteosarcoma patients.
Here, we report that the downregulation of PIM1 led to suppression of cell proliferation by cell cycle arrest at G1 phase and suppression of cell invasion and migration.
Clinicopathological analyses revealed that decreased nuclear PIM1 expression correlated with poorer survival and greater depth of tumor invasion, while increased cytoplasmic PIM1 expression correlated inversely with the presence of lymphovascular invasion.
