Patients with primary angle closure/glaucoma (PAC/PACG) with extensive peripheral anterior synechiae (PAS), and coexisting cataract, increasingly have been treated with phacoemulsification combined with goniosynechialysis (Phaco-GSL).
This prospective cohort study included 422 PACD eyes from 269 Chinese patients, including 274 primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG) eyes and 152 primary angle closure/primary angle closure suspect (PAC/PACS) eyes.
Subjects with the CATTTAC haplotype have a 1.71-fold increased possibility of having PACG/PAC, whereas subjects with the CGCCCGC haplotype have 0.47-fold decreased possibility of developing PACG.
Among the three studied SNPs, significant genetic association was identified for rs1015213 in the PAC/PACG (P = 0.002) and any-angle closure (P = 0.003) analyses.
