The human NPC cell line CNE-2 was transfected with a lentivirus that contained the SHP-1 gene or a nonsense sequence (referred to as LP-H1802Lv201 and LP-NegLv201 cells, respectively).
The expression level of miR-4649-3p and SHP-1 mRNA was negatively correlated in the NPC cell lines. miR-4649-3p mimics suppressed NPC cell proliferation whereas miR-4649-3p inhibitors promoted NPC cell proliferation.
Small interfering (si)RNA-mediated knockdown of SHP-1 and SHP‑2 in the NPC cells was used to further examine their roles in radiosensitivity and cell cycle distribution.
