Similar to iPSC, P19teratocarcinoma cell line also has characteristics of embryonic carcinoma cells and the ability to differentiate into many cell types.
To address this issue we employed a murine embryonic stem cell line (ES-D3) as well as two teratocarcinoma cell lines, P19 (murine) and NTera2 (human).
Using P19teratocarcinoma cells differentiated by retinoic acid treatment, we observed an induction of Ret mRNA accompanied by a decrease of SP1 binding due to its proteolytic cleavage.
Synaptophysin and synapsin I, another synaptic vesicle protein, are also expressed by retinoic acid-induced neuronally differentiated P19teratocarcinoma cells.
