3Y IHS showed a significant difference in SRS-22 (NF: 1.2 vs. MF: 1.32 vs. SF: 1.69, P < 0.001) and NRS Back Pain (NF: 0.52, MF: 0.66, SF: 0.6, P = 0.025) between frailty groups.SF had more complications (79%).
A total of 328 patients with idiopathic scoliosis, aged between ten and 20 years at the time of surgery, were identified in the Swedish spine register (Swespine) and had patient reported outcomes including the Scoliosis Research Society 22r instrument (SRS-22r) score, EuroQol 5 dimensions quality of life, 3 level (EQ-5D-3L) score and a Viual Analogue Score (VAS) for back pain, at a mean follow-up of 3.1 years and reoperation data at a mean follow-up of 5.5 years.
RESULTS Weak correlations were found between SVA and ODI (r = 0.296, p < 0.05) and PT with NRS back pain and the SRS pain domain (r = -0.260, p < 0.05, and r = 0.282, p < 0.05, respectively).
Quality of life was assessed using a Visual Analog Scale for back pain, the Oswestry disability index questionnaire, and the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS-22) questionnaire.
The 2 groups had similar 2-year postoperative improvements in HRQOL (p > 0.05) except for the greater improvements in the MCS and the Scoliosis Research Society-22r questionnaire (SRS-22r) mental domain (p < 0.05) in the LMH group and greater improvements in PCS and SRS-22r satisfaction and back pain domains (p < 0.05) in the HMH group.
