Patients with loss-of-function (LOF) signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) mutations have dermatitis, enhanced IgE production despite a relative lack of immediate hypersensitivity, recurrent infection, and an increased rate of lymphoma in addition to a number of skeletal and connective tissue abnormalities.
Collectively, these findings suggest that DLNP-assisted transcutaneous delivery of a STAT3-inhibiting peptide could be a promising strategy for treating psoriatic skin inflammation without causing adverse systemic events.
