The variant genotype (CC) of TIMP3-1296T/C SNP was also significantly associated with a decreased risk of colorectal cancer [OR, 0.18 (95%CI, 0.05-0.65); <i>P</i>=0.009].<b>Conclusion:</b> The present study demonstrates that there is a strong and highly significant association between the TIMP2-418G/C and TIMP3-1296T/C promoter SNPs and the risk of developing CRC in ethnic Kashmiri population.
