Thus, the present study provided information on the prevalence of TLR4 SNPs in Japanese patients with invasive aspergillosis and indicated that these SNPs played a minor role in increasing the susceptibility of Japanese individuals to invasive aspergillosis.
We analyzed 41 patients with proven/probable IA after allo-SCT for an association of SNPs, within the TLR2, TLR4, TLR5, TLR9, and NOD2/CARD15 genes, with susceptibility to IA.
An association has been found between SNPs in TLR4 and dectin-1 and invasive aspergillosis, which has been strengthened by biological evidence from in-vitro and in-vivo studies that showed a loss of function in the presence of the SNP.
