The CASP8D302H polymorphism genotypic frequencies were not statistically significantly different between meningioma cases and controls, with frequencies of GG, GC and CC genotypes of 71.2%, 19,2% and 9.6%; and 57.9%, 36.8% and 5.3%, respectively.
We tested the hypothesis that the CASP8 polymorphism D302H may influence risk of meningioma through analysis of five independent series of case patients and controls (n=631 and 637, respectively).
The CT haplotype of the two CASP8 polymorphisms was associated with significantly increased risk of meningioma (OR, 1.7; 95% CI, 1.1-2.6), but was not associated with risk of glioma or acoustic neuroma.
