Furthermore, ectopic expression of GDF15 can partially rescue TK1 knockdown-induced LUAD growth and metastasis inhibition, confirming its important role as a downstream mediator of TK1 function in LUAD.
In the present study, we used a recombinant GDF15 lentivirus technique to upregulate the expression of GDF15 in lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells, and the results revealed that GDF15 could inhibit the proliferation, migration and invasion, while promoting apoptosis of A549 cells.
Then, from the 640 candidates we identified 10 differentially expressed genes among different TNM stages (Stage I, II and IIIA), of which Zimp7, GINS2 and NAG-1 genes were first reported to be present at a high level in lung adenocarcinoma.
The retinoid 6-[3-(1-adamantyl)-4-hydroxyphenyl]-2-naphthalene carboxylic acid (AHPN) greatly enhances the expression of NAG-1 mRNA and protein in a time- and dose-dependent manner in human lung adenocarcinoma H460 cells and several other carcinoma cell lines.
