A phase I study using two peptide vaccines derived from M phase phosphoprotein 1 (MPHOSPH1) and DEP domain containing 1 (DEPDC1) demonstrated promising results for the treatment of advanced bladder cancer.
In a phase I/II clinical trial, a DEPDC1- and MPHOSPH1-derived short peptide vaccine demonstrated promising efficacy in preventing bladder cancer recurrence.
Our results imply that the MPHOSPH1/PRC1 complex is likely to play a crucial role in bladder carcinogenesis and that inhibition of the MPHOSPH1/PRC1 expression or their interaction should be novel therapeutic targets for bladder cancers.
